General presentation
The S16/F relay is mainly used as main or back-up overcurrent protection on feeders or incomers in public or industrial installations.
The relay has 4 current inputs.
The devices of the SMARTLINE range, S16 series, are designed to provide compact, economical and simple solutions for feeder protection, motor protection and various types of back-up protection. These devices feature a predefined hardware layout and fixed standard configurations.
The relay is fitted with a USB 2.0 port at the front and a serial interface at the rear. The front port gives access to the device configuration, which the user can modify (thresholds, time delays, signalling, tripping matrix, etc.) using the S16 Tool software, available for free download on our website. The communication port at the rear of the device is reserved for the connection to the SCADA system (IEC 61-870).

Applications
The S16/F relay is mainly used as main or back-up overcurrent protection in primary and secondary distribution substations as well as in industrial power networks.
